The name's Annie. Annie November. Friends call me Annie, my editor calls me November, and loads of others call me a pain in the butt.

I am the byproduct of a failing social infrastructure. Rather, one that was destined to collapse. My mother was a galdori Socialite, steadily climbing the shining ladder that is notoriety. My father was a nomadic wick with zero ambition for social stardom, and wouldn't get anywhere anyway due to his "less than desirable" racial status. Mommy Dearest got pregnant, Father Knows Best got scarce and I got the shaft. Genetically speaking, I was a half breed bred from a half breed, and while I had more magic in me than other wicks, I was still just a wick and it wouldn't do to have a kid who looked different in a social construct that thrived on its lack of diversity. My mother did the only thing she knew to do: she left me with an old blind seer who lived far enough away that I would never become a tarnished spot on her shining reputation, but close enough that she wouldn't feel guilty for abandoning me. Too bad for her she picked the one person who was a blight on every single cultural structure in Anaxas. Interestingly enough, for being shunned by society like we were, we had plenty of visitors. Humans, wicks and an occasional galdori (although their visits were most secret) came to The Seer to seek their fates and learn of things to come. I think that's where I gained my fascination with shaping events, which led me down my current career path: a roving reporter for a popular Gossip rag. Go figure, right?

I carry no weapons; I come armed only with my sharp wit, expansive vocabulary and a knack for getting to the underlying truth in most any situation. I have acquired an enemy or two, picked up a friend here and there, and have caused at least one riot in the streets. I stand for truth, justice, the Anaxi way, and the Peoples' (and wicks', galdori and passives'--when the come out of their apathetic comas) right to know! I started writing when I was nine. The Seer picked up on my ability to discern truth quickly, and she helped me to harness my ability as best as I could. It comes in handy during press conferences and exclusive interviews, even if it does end them faster than they normally would. Doesn't bother me any, though; hitting that nerve is like striking journalistic gold.

The class struggles between the different races are an interesting topic for me. I mean, technically speaking I'm on the higher end of the spectrum, what with me being 3/4th galdori. Then again, I'm only 3/4th galdori, and that doesn't quite get you in the door at the country club. So when I picked up from one of my sources that this Jon Serro guy is starting to lead the fight against Human oppression by the galdori, I got a little excited. First and foremost, Civil Rights are the feeding grounds of journalists all over. I mean, a real fight for freedom is going on right in front of me! I'm watching history unfold. I'm shaping history every time I write about it! Maybe it could mean something in the long run. Maybe it'll spark a Civil War. Maybe, just maybe, it'll get me recognized somewhere outside of my Byline. Maybe someday I'll get to be a Me, rather than a We.

And now we see why I'm a photographer, not an illustrator.
Mainly, I wanted to introduce who I'll be in about two weeks.
Should anybody desire to do a better rendition of me, PLEASE do! I suck at this stuff. Just let me know so I can get excited.

Edit: [link] Muuuch better rendition, I'd say! Thank you, :iconthundercake:!

Hey, thanks for sending me your character already! She looks great :D Love the press hat. If we end up doing the in-game magazine I'll do a little painting of her to use alongside her column.

For the backstory, there are a couple things that aren't exactly true.. for example, a wick/galdori halfbreed would just be called a wick, and would still be limited to wick spells, though she would probably be more adept at picking them up. And the terms "Anaxorian" and "Galdorian" are incorrect, it's "Anaxi" and "galdori" (no capitals for the races).. I realize that's kinda weird =p When the wiki comes out, it should explain all of that stuff better than my journal did.

Otherwise, it looks awesome.. it's a good backstory :) I like her moon necklace. Did I mention that the moon is the symbol for Alioe, the goddess of Anaxas?
